Sycryptic is a password manager first. Security is not a marketing slide. It is how the vault, sign-in, and sharing features are designed to work together.

Core security pillars

End-to-end encrypted vault

Passwords, secure notes, and recovery codes are encrypted in your browser, under a key derived from your master password, before anything is sent. Our servers only store ciphertext: we cannot read your vault, and neither can anyone who gets hold of our database. Your recovery key is the only way back in if you forget your master password; we cannot reset it for you.

Strong account protection

Turn on two-factor authentication, register passkeys for passwordless sign-in, and use one-time backup codes if you lose your authenticator device.

Session and device control

Review logged-in devices from your profile and sign out remotely when a session should no longer have access.

Sharing on your terms

Share a saved login only with another Sycryptic user you choose. You can update access or stop sharing at any time.

Good habits we recommend

Use a unique master password and enable two-factor authentication.
Prefer the encrypted JSON export when backing up your vault.
Treat CSV exports as plain text and store them carefully.
Rotate weak or reused passwords surfaced by your dashboard health score.
Sign out of devices you no longer use from your profile settings.
